Nobel Laureate scientist Tim Hunt wants single-sex laboratories to prevent distraction from female colleagues. As per him, female scientists enter a lab, fall in love, and cry when criticised.
Wow! A nobel laureate?? Are you serious? Sir, you have just reduced yourself to a human body attached to a penis, nothing more. Years of study, experiments, and hard work- but all it matters is that you are basically a chauvinist pig. Shame on you.
“Your love should never be offered to the mouth of a stranger,
Only to someone who has the valor and daring to cut pieces of their soul off with knife
And weave them into a blanket to protect you.”
“Sharma ji, hum zara si bewafa kya huye, aap toh badjalan ho gaye!”
Though flawed in many parts, the film does manage to strike a chord. Fabulous performances, witty one-liners, and unconventional thinking are the main assets of this movie. The points I liked the most, are-
1) Tanu and Manu gets married, and after 4 years, there are certain issues in between them which they are not able to solve. Some are practical, some are silly, but they act on their emotions rather than ‘Log kya kahenge’
2) The wife (Tanu) drinks and flirts and abuses people. She is just a normal human being with all imperfections, not the ideal bahu Bollywood always portrays. She has her problems, she is selfish, but she can speak her mind when she wants. And at the end as we see, she is ready to let go of her ego too.
3) The girl (Kusum) coming from a backward rural area. Still she is an achiever, can stand for her own rights, and can love unconditionally.
Overall, it was a good entertainer, full paisa-vasool film!
“Do not fall in love with people like me.
I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth.
I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible. And when I leave you will finally understand, why storms are named after people.”
Beautiful, beautiful quote! And it feels as if it has been written for me…that’s what makes it so special.
Masturdating – Going to a movie or restaurant alone
Learnt this new word today. I have been to movies alone many times. And I like it. The seat, people looking and thinking why this girl came alone, the slow savoring of the film, and the confidence it brings. I feel good that nowadays people are comfortable enough in their own skins to go to a movie alone, or to have a meal in a restaurant alone. And the sheer cockiness of the word makes it feel so good!
We went to Blue and Beyond today for T’s birthday celebration. This is a rooftop restaurant, on top of Hotel Lindsay in New Market. The hotel is quite old…has that old musky smell, with wall-to-wall carpets and black-and-white photographs and uniformed waiters. The rooftop place was nicely done. Had s good time there.

A couple is sitting in their living room, sipping wine. Out of the blue, the wife says, “I love you.”
“Is that you or the wine talking?” asks the husband.
“It’s me,” says the wife. “Talking to the wine.”
All I ever want are the same things I needed as a baby: to go from cold to warm, lonely to held, the vessel to the giver, empty to full.
I learned the people we love usually turn out one of three things –
